Let's tip the scales of justice for wild fish recovery!
On Thursday, April 4, 2019, the Willamette's threatened wild spring Chinook salmon and winter steelhead will go head-to-head with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in U.S. District Court. Please join Native Fish Society and our partners at 10am in Courtroom 15A at the Mark O. Hatfield District Courthouse in Portland as we advocate for critical measures that will stem the tide of decline and put our wild fish on the road to recovery.
You are invited to join Native Fish Society, the Willamette Salmon and Steelhead Recovery Coalition, and our partners in the courtroom as we advocate for critical measures that will stem the tide of decline and put our wild fish on the road to recovery.
We urge you to join us and other advocates of wild fish recovery as we gather to hear oral arguments in our case against the Corps. Our Preliminary Injunction asks the court to direct the Corps to take immediate action to help threatened fish at key federal dams like Cougar, Detroit, and Lookout Point. We are also asking that the court find that the Corps has the legal authority to prioritize fish recovery over other secondary authorized purposes like hydropower generation.
Together, we will show the court that Oregonians want recovery for our iconic fish, our rivers, and our communities.
