Native Fish Society hosted a Lunch and Learn featuring a presentation on the Shasta River with River Steward Andy Marx, on Tuesday, July 20th, from 12:00 - 12:45 pm.

Threats to the Shasta River

Andy Marx shared some of the issues threatening wild fish in the Shasta River, including irrigation withdrawals and climate change, as well as some of the work he's been doing to try to improve the situation. Retired Fisheries Biologist, Bill Chesney, joined Andy and shared his extensive knowledge of the Shasta, with a particular emphasis on the endangered Coho salmon found in the basin.
