2014 River Steward of the Year

Our 2014 River Steward of the Year award was presented to Washougal River Steward Steve Lent. Steve worked on an advisory committee with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife to establish Washington’s fourth official Wild Steelhead Gene Bank designation on the East Fork Lewis River. This important designation protects wild steelhead by eliminating hatchery steelhead releases, implementing conservation based angling regulations, and increasing monitoring efforts.
