NOAA Funding Moves To Senate

Posted:

On Thursday, January 8th, the United States House of Representatives passed the CJS (Commerce, Justice, and Science) spending bill.

This bill rejected almost all of the massive cuts to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) proposed by the Trump administration for FY2025.

The bill package now proceeds to the Senate.

This movement forward is a small glimmer of hope for a crucial agency suffering excruciating losses, and we’re asking NFS members across Oregon to once again contact your Senatorial representatives to ensure they support maximum funding for NOAA.

We encourage you to share personal stories of how NOAA supports you as an angler, the habitat, fish populations, and the places you care about.

Not sure how NOAA affects you? Learn more in a summary of our visit to Washington DC during the summer of 2025 to lobby your legislators to fund NOAA.
