Lyle Seeligson

Communications Intern

Lyle Seeligson joins NFS as a Communications Intern. Originally from San Antonio, Texas, she grew up surrounded by family who sought out every opportunity to fish, whether on lakes, the Texas coast, or frequent trips up to the Deschutes River. It was on these fishing trips that she came to love the beauty of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

Lyle earned a B.A. from Harvard University in History and Science, with a focus in environmental science and food history. She then moved into outdoor education, working for years as a wilderness instructor on extended backpacking, flatwater and whitewater canoeing, rock climbing, and sea kayaking expeditions in Minnesota, West Texas, Western North Carolina, and The Bahamas. On these courses, she taught leadership, teamwork, communication, and backcountry skills to youth and adults. She has also worked as a skiing instructor, journalist, and in the regenerative agriculture field.

Through her work in the outdoor industry, Lyle developed a passion for rivers and whitewater canoeing. These interests, paired with her lifelong love of fishing, made her eager to join the NFS team. She is looking forward to supporting the Native Fish Society’s work to protect native fish and the waterways that sustain them.
