A Clean Sweep at the Molalla Trash & Bass Cleanup!

On Saturday, July 12th, 2025, over 40 people joined Native Fish Society and Molalla River Watch for our Molalla River Trash and Bass Cleanup - a day dedicated to hands-on stewardship, removing invasive smallmouth bass, raising awareness about non-native predators, and celebrating a shared commitment to wild, native fish!
Armed with trash bags, fishing rods, and sun-fueled enthusiasm, participants worked together to target invasive smallmouth bass and remove more than 150 pounds of trash from the river system!
More than just the trash or the bass, Saturday was a day of community! Folks waded, floated, cast lines, hauled garbage, shared cold beverages (thanks, pFriem Brewery!), and enjoyed fresh fish tacos - all in the name of healthier homewaters.
We are so grateful to everyone who showed up and shared their time, energy, and love for the Molalla. Events like this are great reminders that local boots-on-the-ground action adds up - and that when we come together, we can protect the places we love.

Thank you again to our friends at Molalla River Watch and everyone who joined us on the water. Together, we’re building a groundswell of public support for abundant wild fish, free-flowing rivers, and thriving Northwest communities.
We can’t wait to see you again next year — and at future events before then too!
